The Healthcare Heroes Hackathon is more than just a competition. It’s a launchpad for bold ideas and young talent ready to make a difference. Over two exciting days, you’ll team up with fellow students, get coached by high-level experts, connect with professionals from across sectors, and tackle real challenges in healthcare. You’ll even get the chance to pitch your solution in front of policymakers. At the parliament.
No experience? No problem. You don’t need to come with an idea or a background in healthcare. Just bring your brain, your curiosity, and your team spirit.
We believe students like you can drive real change. You have more power than you think. Now’s your chance to prove it. The Healthcare Heroes Hackathon is an initiative of AbbVie BeLux.
Organization
The program is divided into two sessions:
Session 1 - November 14 & 15
During two high-energy days, you'll take part in brainstorming sessions, guided by expert coaches who will challenge you to push your ideas to the next level.
At the end of the hackathon, you’ll pitch your project to a panel of professionals. The top four teams will be selected as finalists and invited to present their solution at the Belgian Parliament — a unique opportunity to make your voice heard at the highest level.
Session 2 - MARCH 2026 (TBC)
The journey continues! In March 2025, the four finalist teams will present their projects in front of key political decision-makers. This is your chance to bring your ideas to the heart of policy.
One team will be crowned the winner of the 2023-2024 Healthcare Heroes Hackathon — and take home the title of true changemakers in tomorrow’s healthcare.
